Iran now can purchase new planes post-Genève deal

Iran’s deputy minister of roads and transportation has said by removing sanctions the country would purchase new planes.

Ali Mohammad Nourian told Mehr News that with removal of sanctions, problems would be solved and country would be able to purchase new planes. “Sanctions on the purchase of plane spare parts and related services had mounted pressures, raising many problems in aerospace industry, which negatively hit the flight security,” he added.

“Provision of spare parts from other alternative ways would multiple the ultimate expenses accruing on the country’s aerospace industry,” he said. Pointing to Iran’s new position with removal of parts of sanctions and possible impact on aerospace industry, Nourian said that Iran’s improved status internationally would contribute to solving problems in spare part provision, fuel, and engine-related problems.

“In addition to enhanced flight security, it would help grounded planes operate,” he asserted. Mehr News reported that issuance of related permissions to provision and installment of spare parts necessary for flight security for Iran’s civil and military planes and related services, and also permissions for inspections and repairs related to flight security had been designated in Genève nuclear deal.
