Iran nuclear chief optimist about talks

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has expressed optimism about the prospect of nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers.

According to Press TV, Ali Akbar Salehi told reporters on Saturday after inaugurating a nuclear fuel plant in the central city of Isfahan “I have always been optimistic about the talks because there is no other option for the 5+1 group but to interact with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The AEOI chief also said that the Islamic Republic has grown so strong that leaves the opposite party with no choice but to interact with Iran.

Salehi noted that Tehran is only seeking a “win-win” outcome from the talks with the world powers.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China – plus Germany are to resume their negotiations on ways of reaching a final agreement over Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

The two sides clinched a landmark interim deal in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 23, 2013. The agreement, which took effect on January 20 and expired six months later on July 20, has been extended until November 24.
