Iran, one of leading countries in medical tourism

Russia Alyoum reported that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the leading countries in medical tourism industry.

According to the television, despite heavy sanctions imposed on IRI’s economy, medical tourism has had good growth in the country and many tourists travel to Iran for this end.

Russia Alyourm reporter, Mohammed bin Ali, said in a report that Iran’s medical tourism sector has achieved considerable growth. The Iranian professional experts and low costs are the factors that attract more tourists to Iran.

An Iranian physician said most of our customers are from abroad such as England, Sweden and Persian Gulf littoral states.

The reporter added Iranian officials in health sector emphasize that Iran’s development in medical tourism sector, especially in cosmetic surgery, is due to advanced infrastructure and hospitals in which professional physicians work.

He added the cost of per surgery in Iran is one quarter of that in America, Britain and Turkey. Iran ranked second after America in bone spinal implant.

The reporter said although there are strong competitions among Asian countries in attracting medical tourism, IRI is among top ten countries in this field in the world.
