The center was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by a number of nuclear officials, including the AEOI Deputy Head for Security and Civil Defense Asqar Zare’an at Natanz nuclear center.

Later in the day, Zare’an also took part in a number of other ceremonies held to mark the start of other nuclear projects, including the launch of nuclear sensor machines in Isfahan nuclear region.

Iran had announced in October 2012 that it planned to establish a medical center in the Central province of Isfahan to provide medical needs for nuclear emergencies.

“The first nuclear emergency center will launch operation in Isfahan in the near future,” Acting Deputy Head of the Medical Emergency and Incidents Center of Isfahan Hamid Esmayeeli told reporters then.

“Construction of the medical center is in its final stages,” he added.

Reminding that the nuclear industry is one of the key industries in the province, the official stated, “Isfahan should be fully prepared to respond to (nuclear) events.”

Natanz uranium enrichment facility (UCF) is among Iran’s key nuclear centers located in Isfahan province.
