Iran opposes US military intervention in Iraq

Iran’s FM spokeswoman has said Islamic Republic of Iran strongly opposes any military intervention in Iraq.

Marzieh Afkahm told reporters that recent crisis in Iraq aims at changing its political conditions.

“We should not expect help from those who add to the crisis in Iraq,” said Afkham and added that “Iran pursues developments in Iraq precisely.”

She held that the attacks accrued just after the recent parliamentarian elections in Iraq which was a great victory for the Iraqis but unacceptable for other countries.

Afkham asserted that the terrorists could be threats for the other countries beyond regional borders and asked international communications to support Iraqi government to defeat extremists and terrorist Takfiris.
