Iran, P5+1 reviewed proposals put forward in Istanbul meeting

Three round of talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and G5+1 behind closed door in Istanbul concluded Monday night, it was announced on Tuesday.
The meeting was held following an agreement reached during the Almaty meeting between Iran and G5+1 to continue negotiations on Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.

According to diplomat sources in Turkey, the meeting was held behind closed doors upon request of the two sidesˈ officials.

The Istanbul talks prepared the grounds for continuation of negotiations between the two sides.

Political observers believe that this round of talks would play a crucial role for the next round of talks in Almaty.

Based on the agreements reached between the two sides in Almaty of Kazakhstan, it was agreed that the two sidesˈ experts hold a joint meeting in Istanbul from March 17-18 to exchange views and reach a consensus prior to the Almaty meeting.

The Iranian experts who attended the meeting came back to Tehran on Tuesday.
