Iran pledges support for Palestinians
Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has underlined the Islamic Republic’s full support for the Palestinian cause and resistance.

In a Tuesday meeting with Emad al-Alami, a member of Hamas Political Bureau, Salehi said Tehran’s political and moral support for the Palestinians is a humanitarian and Islamic duty.

He added that Iran will employ all its political potential, including its rotating presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), to support the Palestinians in the international arena.

Alami, for his part, praised Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinians, especially during Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, and said the latest victories achieved by the resistance front were made thanks to Iran’s support.

Alami also held a separate meeting with Saeed Jalili, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Jalili said the victory of the resistance during the recent eight-day Gaza war indicated the enemy’s weakness and the Islamic world’s power and proved that resistance is the only option available to liberate Palestine.

Alami also highlighted the resistance of the Palestinians against Israel and underlined the need for the reconstruction of Gaza.

He also said that Iran’s support for the Palestinian resistance has paved the way for victory in the eight-day war.

On November 14, the Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip, which killed more than 160 Palestinians and injured some 1,200 others. In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into the Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.

An Egypt-mediated ceasefire agreement, which took effect on November 21, ended the eight-day Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
