The Commander of Islamic Republic of Iran Army Navy, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, has announced the full-scale preparedness of Iran to counter threats.

According to IRIB World Service, Iran Army Navy commander, in an interview with the Wednesday edition of the Tehran-based ‘Jomhouri Eslami’ paper, noted that Iran Army’s Navy is currently present in north of the Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden, and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, with the equipment which have been produced and/or updated by Iranian experts.

According to the Navy commander, currently investments have been made on the capacities of Iranian experts and there is no need for foreign-made equipment.

Rear Admiral Sayyari also reminded that the wide-scale presence of Iran in high seas doesn’t pose a threat against other countries.
He went on to point out that roughly 90% of Iran’s exports are carried out by sea. Thereby, significant importance is attached to northern Indian Ocean, and the security of commercial lines in this region should be maintained with the presence of Iran Army Navy flotillas, and Iranian ships should be able to safely sail through this region.
