Iran ready to help development, progress in Kyrgyzstan

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki voiced Iran’s readiness to help the trend of development and progress in Kyrgyzstan.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Kyrgyz President Rosa Otunbayeva in Bishkek Friday evening.

Conveying the warm greetings of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Otunbayeva, he congratulated the Kyrgyz nation and government on the successful holding of elections with massive participation of people.

He also said Iran supported stability in Kyrgyzstan and hoped the nation would form its government with the participation of all victorious parties soon.

Otunbayeva thanked Iran for supporting her nation at hard times and noting that the two nations of Iran and Kyrgyzstan belonged to the same region and shared similar sentiments, said the visit of the Iranian delegation to Kyrgyzstan, though short, had a significant meaning.

She further referred to the role of bilateral relations in promoting security and stability in the region and said her country needed Iran’s investments and technological know-how.
