Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi has expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to provide help for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon until they return to their homeland.

According to IRIB, in a meeting with a delegation of Lebanese figures and members of parties on Wednesday, Roknabadi reaffirmed Iran’s stance in opposing foreign interference in Syria.
He said “Tehran has a fixed position on the ongoing events in Syria and we reject any foreign meddling in the country’s internal affairs.”
The Iranian envoy stressed the importance of pursuing a political approach to the unrest in Syria, urging various political groups and movements in the crisis-stricken country to hold constructive talks and make efforts to restore stability and improve political understanding.
He said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is targeted by foreign attacks due to his support for the resistance and confrontation with the Israeli regime.
Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi said in Tehran on Wednesday that Damascus would negotiate with the opposition groups that agree to lay down their arms because they are the children of Syria who have been misled by the plots of the enemies.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
