Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks in a joint session with Iran’s Department of Environment held to sign a memorandum of cooperation.

The official deemed the MoU as an indicator of cooperation between two organizations on issues concerning the environment. Salehi added “AEOI is obliged to examine the soil, water resources, and weather on the issue of radiation.”

She praised the AEOI for cnsidering the environmental issues and said “this organization benefits from proper structure and performs logically and appropriately.”

“Strict standards and controls have to be established to secure the atomic technology and its functions and to avoid environmental risks and threats,” Ebtekar added.
