A senior Iranian commander has warned the Islamic Republic’s enemies against any potential adventurism against the country, saying aggressors will get caught in a blazing inferno.

“If our enemies commit folly and [even] the thought of invading the holy borders of our country crosses their minds, Iranian youth are always ready to make a burning hell for them on land, in the air and in the sea,” said Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili, who commands Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base.

He made the comment on Friday, marking the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the strategic base.

Khatam al-Anbiya was established on August 31, 2008, on the order of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

On Monday, Esmaili said Iran’s Air Defense sector was fully self-sufficient in producing its required military equipment, adding that all the country’s old systems had been upgraded and domestically manufactured.

Meanwhile, Iran’s first indigenously manufactured floating radar has also been installed and launched on a vessel at the country’s northern Amirabad Port.

The seaborne Sahand Radar, which has been designed and developed by Iranian experts, was mounted on Miankaleh vessel, tested and put into operation on Wednesday, August 28.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has also held several military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.

Iran has repeatedly said that its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
