Iran, Slovenia discuss mutual cooperation

Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar has underlined the importance of enhancing ties with Iran in all fields, stressing that Tehran is viewed as a key partner by Ljubljana.

In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Ljubljana Mohammad-Rahim Aghayipour on Tuesday, the Slovenian minister said the inauguration of Iran’s embassy in his country would improve bilateral relations in various political, economic and cultural fields.

The Iranian envoy pointed to the formerly meager ties between the two countries and emphasized that Iran and Slovenia have the potential to boost economic cooperation.

Zbogar also urged strengthening political ties with Tehran and called on the two countries to prepare the ground for exchanging visits between Iranian and Slovenian officials.

On November 14, Aghayipour, the first Iranian ambassador to Ljubljana, submitted his credentials to Slovenian President Danilo Turk.
