‘Iran strategic ally of Latin America’

The Bolivian ambassador to Tehran highlights the importance of relations with Iran, describing the Islamic Republic as a strategic ally of Latin America region.

Jorge Rodolfo Miranda Luizaga said in an interview with ISNA on Saturday that US warnings issued to South American countries about Iran’s influence in the region would fail to affect relations with the Islamic Republic.
The ambassador said this is a threat to the US, not us, because the US is seeking full dominance over the entire world. The US seeks to isolate both Iran and Latin American countries but Washington’s warnings will not have an impact on us.
Commenting on Iran-Bolivia relations, the envoy praised the ties, saying the two countries have common policies.
Major Latin American nations have enhanced their diplomatic and trade ties with Iran in recent years. The promotion of all-out cooperation with Latin American countries has been among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy over the past few years.
