Iran, Syria review regional developments

Iran Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki who is in Syria for a one-day visit said on Monday that officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria should have continuous consultations to maintain the two countries’ strategic relations.

Speaking to reporters at the Damascus airport Mottaki said during his stay in Syria he would discuss important regional developments with Syrian officials.

“Tehran-Damascus relations as well as other issues of interests are among the topics the two countries’ officials will confer about,” he added.

Mottaki was scheduled to visit with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his own counterpart Walid Muallem. He will also meet officials of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah and different Palestinian groups.
