Iran plans to unveil five new defensive achievements in the next few days, the Iranian defense ministry announced on Tuesday.

In a statement today, the Iranian defense ministry said that new achievements will go on display in a special ceremony on the verge of Khordad 3 (May 24), marking the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr city from Iraqi occupation during the eight-year Iraqi imposed war in the 1980s.

Senior Iranian military commanders and officials will participate in the event, the statement added.

The statement provided no further details on the new products.

On Thursday, Iran displayed its most advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) designed and manufactured by the country’s engineers.

The stealth drone, named Hemaseh (Epic), was unveiled in a special ceremony in the presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.

The ceremony was held on the sidelines of a conference to commemorate the defense ministry’s martyrs.

In April, the Iranian Army Ground Force displayed three new military products on the occasion of the National Army Day.

In a ceremony attended by Commander of the Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, Fadak wireless radio, Soheil missile launcher and a T72 tank simulator were unveiled.

The Iranian Army has recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of its home-made weapons, tools and equipments, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircraft, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, during massive military drills.

Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran’s wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor, specially at a time of heightened threats by the US.
