Iran’s Navy has plans to bring a range of new equipment into service until March 2017, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari announced, saying that the homegrown military watercraft will transfix the world.

During a recent visit to Shiraz Electronics Industries plant, Sayyari said the new naval gear include missile-launching warships, new destroyers, as well as squadrons of vessels and submarines, which will be launched until March 2017.
“This major move, which signifies the Islamic Republic of Iran’s self-sufficiency in supplying the naval defense equipment, will certainly once again stun the world,” the commander added.
He also praised the Shiraz Electronics Industries as one of the major sources the Navy relies on to acquire the necessary military equipment for the presence in the international waters.
In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
