Iran to exhibit Setboun revolution photos

The Iranian city of Ahvaz is set to exhibit photos taken by French photojournalist Michel Setboun during the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The event, which will be part of the second Fajr International Visual Arts Festival, will be held at Ahvaz Contemporary Arts Museum.

The exhibition will display 20 black and white photographs of Setboun’s 42-piece revolution collection which was purchased by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcast (IRIB) two decades ago.

Michel Setboun covered the Islamic Revolution as a Sipa Press correspondent. He has also covered many historical and political events in Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Albania, El Salvador and many other countries.

The 2010 Fajr International Visual Arts Festival will be held from February 1 to March 3 in Tehran and four other provinces.

Artists from all over the world will present their works in painting, sculpture, ceramic, illustration, calligraphy, photography and caricature categories.
