Iran to mark Gaza’s 22-day resistance Mon.

A conference entitled “Gaza, symbol of resistance” will be held in Tehran by the Iranian-based Islamic Development Organization on January 19, 2010, designated as “day of Gaza” in the Iranian calendar.

IRI Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani, will lecture on changes in Palestine after the 22-day war, the Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN) public relations office announced.

The conference begins on January 19th and continues for three days. Distinguished foreign figures are also invited to the conference.

On December 27, 2008 the Zionist regime launched a brutal incursion against an already besieged Gaza Strip.

The attack caused the deaths of over 1400 innocent Palestinian, mostly civilians. 6000 were wounded.

Despite unprecedented atrocity carried out by the Zionist army, none of the regime’s goals was achieved, and the army retreated after 22 days of ferocious war.

The successful resistance by a minimally equipped Palestinian force against the Zionist regime’s army is regarded a large victory in the history of Palestinian resistance.

To celebrate the resistance’s victory, The IRI Parliament named 29th of Day (December 27) as “the day of Gaza.”
