Dr. Rasoul Dinarvand pointed to future programs to develop new vaccines in the country. “In the next year (Beginning March 21) a new event will feature the vaccine production industry and that is production of DTP vaccine (pentavalent) and hepatitis B,” he added, “Haemophilus influenza vaccine will also be in the agenda to produce.”

“Country’s vaccines are produced in Pasteur and Razi Institutes. However, due to issues arising in production, we also have imported part of domestic needs,” said the deputy-minister. “For example, in 2013 we had difficulties in developing polio vaccine; and recent years for some other types of vaccines, we had also problems,” he asserted.

Dinarvand also said that country’s vaccines production was in private sector major vaccine producers. “The new event will be production of pentavalent or DTP vaccine to be developed and marketed in the next year,” he said.
