Iran to Resume Gas Supply to Turkey Soon

Tehran announced that gas flow in the Iran-Turkey pipeline, which has been brought to a halt by an explosion, will be resumed in the shortest time.
Iran-Turkey gas exports pipeline will be repaired by next 48 hours after a blast that disrupted the flow early Friday morning, a National Iranian Gas Company spokesman announced on Friday.

“The pipeline will be repaired in the shortest possible time by experts. It was exploded near Bazargan border at 02:10 am on Friday for unknown reasons and gas exports to Turkey were thus halted temporarily,” Majid Bujarzadeh told the Islamic republic news agency.

Bujarzadeh said field and technical teams are in the area immediately after the explosion to repair the line.

He said real cause of the incident is yet to be known.

According to reports, Iran exports a daily average of more than 30 million cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey, which indicates a daily growth of eleven million cubic meters in 2010.
