Iran unveils tactical military hardware

On the fourth day of the Sacred Defense Week, Iran officially inaugurates the mass production line of two strategic military hardware products.

Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi unveiled a high mobility multipurpose vehicle named Kaviran and a mortar-launcher known as Razm on Saturday.

With a capacity of 3.4 tons, Kaviran has several unique capabilities such as the ability to cross deep rivers. It can also be used an ambulance, personnel carrier and mobile rocket-launcher.

The domestically-produced Razm mortar-launcher has a range of 16 kilometers. Previous mortar-launchers had a range of 6.2 kilometers.

Vahidi pointed out that both new products were produced in line with the defense ministry’s policy of using state-of-the-art military hardware.

“The Razm mortar-launcher can be easily mounted on the Kaviran tactical vehicle,” Vahidi added.

Vahidi thanked the country’s defense industry experts for their achievements in the field.
