Vice president of Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission called for formation of a truth finding committee to investigate the hajj incidents.

Mansour Haghighatpour, while condemning the Saudi administration for mismanagement of hajj rituals, underlined that the continuation of incidents like what happened in Mina today proves that Saudi government lacks the needed efficiency and qualification for running the most holy places of Muslim world.

“It is necessary to find a new solution on managing hajj rituals and the very first step would be to form a truth finding committee on behalf of all Islamic countries in order to inspect the dimensions of the deadly events,” he said, asserting that the committee should also consider the issues like intentional or unintentional nature of the incidents.

The official underlined “the adopted approach should be directed in a way to introduce Mecca and Medina as free Islamic zones to provide comfort and security for all Muslims during the Hajj rituals.”

Haghighatpour meanwhile urged the international legal communities to follow up the case and protect the lives of Muslims in Saudi Arabia.

According to reports, Saudi forces’ blocking of a passage of pilgrims walking in Mina, led this morning to stampede and death of nearly 1200 people from different countries, some 120 Iranians among them, leavnig more than 1500 people injured.
