Iran VP: US Embassy Relocation Due to Frustration Caused by Repeated Defeats

Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri blasted the US decision to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds, and said it is a weak measure to boost their allies’ morale.

“The frustration caused by repeated defeats at their Arrogance front has moved them toward taking such weak measures to boost the morale of their allies, all the while unwise to the fact that the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist regime will follow an even more humiliating defeat,” Jahangiri wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday night.

The Iranian first vice president’s remarks came in a reaction to Washington’s recognition of (Jerusalem) al-Quds as Israel’s capital during an announcement by US President Trump on Wednesday that his administration would also begin to move the American embassy in Tel Aviv to (Jerusalem) al-Quds.

Trump’s move which overturns decades of US foreign policy is feared to trigger a fresh wave of unrest in the Middle East.

In a Wednesday night statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry called the move a “blatant violation of international resolutions,” and warned against a new Palestinian Intifada (uprising).
