Iran Warns of Preplanned Measures if Other Sides Violate N. Deal

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi warned that the country has foreseen special measures if the other sides violate the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran.

“If the US violates the nuclear deal unilaterally and the EU, China and Russia powerfully continue their cooperation with Iran, the US will be isolated but if Europe accompanies the US in this regard, Iran has plans too and will not remain silent,” Salehi said on Monday.

Stressing that the western states are certain that Iran doesn’t seek proliferation of atomic weapons, he said, “They are more concerned about Iran’s capability (to attain different modern technologies).”

In relevant remarks last month, Salehi warned that the US, Israel and some of their regional allies are attempting to weaken the internationally-accepted 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers.

“Now, a move and indescribable coordination has been created among certain regional states, the Zionist regime and the new US administration to distort the nuclear deal using any means,” Salehi said, two days after the second anniversary of endorsement of the nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers (the US, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany) on July 14, 2015.

Meantime, he underlined the strong points of the nuclear deal and the obstacles on the way of the signatories to violate it, and said, “The other side knows that the nuclear deal is like a strong dam which cannot be ruined easily and therefore, they have resorted to harassing measures so that we will have a reaction and they use it as a pretext to attain their goal” (that is discarding the deal).

Also last Tuesday, Salehi said his organization is capable of reviving its 20 percent uranium enrichment capability in just 5 days if the 2015 nuclear deal is discarded by the other side.

“If we want, we can start the 20% enrichment in Fordo in maximum five days and this has a lot of meaning. This measure has different messages technically and professionally and the other side understands its message,” Salehi said.

He added that Iran has as well foreseen other measures to reciprocate the other side’s disloyalty to the nuclear deal, noting that the AEOI will do whatever decided by the committee supervising the implementation of the nuclear deal.
