Iran will never bow to enemies

Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has downplayed the West’s sanctions and pressures, saying the Islamic Republic will never succumb to enemies.

“Despite imposition of tight sanctions and creation of obstacles in the way of Iran’s development, enemies have no option but to admit that Iran plays a role in the global management,” IRNA quoted Rahimi as saying in a meeting with Iranian elites in the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday.

He added that the Islamic establishment strongly stands up to bullying powers by acting upon the wise guidelines of Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian official pointed to Iran’s growing achievements in different fields, and said the Islamic establishment has found its proper path and is taking steps towards “peaks of honor.”

Although enemies spare no effort to impede the Iranian nation’s development, the Iranian elites are making progress,” he went on to say.

“A bright future awaits the Iranian nation,” Rahimi further emphasized.

He pointed to political and economic issues raised in his talks with senior Qatari officials, saying, “We are ready to upgrade economic relations and boost trade exchanges between the two countries to 10 billion dollars.”

Earlier in the day, the top Iranian official held talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Muhammad Al Thani and Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on ways to promote mutual relations as well as the latest developments in the region.

Rahimi arrived in Doha on Sunday at the head of a high-ranking economic delegation for a two-day visit at the official invitation of the Qatari crown prince.
