Iran Won’t Attend in Syria’s Talk, If Unproductive: DFM

Iranian Deputy of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam News Network about next Syria crisis talks Said: if next meeting for solving Syria crisis will be unproductive, certainly Iran won’t take part.

 

Iranian Deputy of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam News Network about next Syria crisis talks Said: if next meeting for solving Syria crisis will be unproductive, certainly Iran won’t take part.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs about first Syria talks which was held with the participation on 17 nations, the European Union and United Nations on October 30, 2015 in Vienna said: in the first meeting some countries, specifically Saudi Arabia played a negative and non-constructive role and this countries can’t even provide a logic on their position, some other parties were interested in some matters which are essentially within the competence of Syrian people, We do not support others take political decision about the future of Syria people.

He said: At this meeting we stressed that a framework should create for influential countries to fight terrorism and helping pursue the political process in Syria to have a facilitator role in the creating political process between the representatives of Syrian government and representatives of various opposition groups leading to national dialogue in Syria and the need to set the conditions for the Syrian people to be able deciding for their political future.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said: if next meeting will be held in this framework, Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to support negotiations and help strengthen the political dialogue and support the fight against terrorism. If our assessment of the meetings is positive, we will continue to attend the next meetings.

If the negotiations will be symbolic show and rights of the Syrian people ignored and don’t be take into consideration of realities in Syria, It is natural that the meetings and negotiations process must be corrected. But if the negotiations are useless the Islamic Republic of Iran and a lot of countries that are reasonable policies, won’t be attend the next meeting.

Iran Position on Syrian Oppositions Attending in the next Talks

He said in the Vienna meeting we negotiated about the terrorist groups and oppositions and this fact tht only oppositions can attend the talks. We negotiated about this matter that is it only ISIL or Nusra Front included in the list of terrorist group or some other group will be in the list. It is decided that in this issue we keep negotiating and acting accord to UNSC resolutions and realities in the battle ground of Syria.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs added Russia provided a list about this matters but we think that this issue related to Syrian people and  Syrian government’s right. He emphasized that we told Russia about the list of opposiotions whocan be attend in the next meeting that it is Syrian people’s rights.
