Iranian archers stand top in Asian Championship

Iranian Men and women archers on Sunday stood on top of the 17th Asian Archery Championship in Tehran, Iran with three gold and two silver medals.

South Korean archers won two gold, two silver medals and two bronze medals and stood second position.

Malaysians stood third with two gold and two silver medals of the championship.

Iranian champion received the first gold medal through team compound category but basketed the second and the third by Mr. Reza Zamaninejad and Ms Maryam Ranjbar.

The 17th Asian Archery Championships started on October 18 and will finish on October 24 in Azadi sport complex in Tehran.

The event is considered as qualifying competitions for the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Asian Archery Championship has brought 22 countries together.
