Iranian cleric gives comfort to Syrian nation, government

Prominent Iranian cleric has condoled the assassination of senior Syrian cleric Sheikh Mohammad Said Ramadan Al Buti who was killed in powerful suicide attack at Mazra’a mosque in the neighborhood of Damascus on Thursday.
“In our deep sorrow, we have leant about the martyrdom of prominent Muslim elite and Alim and the head of the chairman of Sham Ulema Association who is well-known for his services to the Muslim ummah and the sister and friend nation of Syria. He spend all his life in inviting to Muslim unity and strived for reapproachment among Muslims,” it was read at a statement issued by Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, the Secretary for the World Forum for the proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts in Tehran.

The senior Ayatollah said that the religious body has condemned the Syrian sheikh assassination by mercenary terrorist groups and sent his heartfelt condolence to the Syrian nation and government.

A massive funeral ceremony has taken place in Damascus, Syria for the pro-Assad Syrian cleric.
