Iranian, Cuban Officials Discuss Promotion of Bilateral Ties

Senior Iranian and Cuban Foreign Ministry officials explored avenues for the further expansion of the two countries’ relations and cooperation.

Director-General of the office of North and Central America at the Iranian Foreign Ministry Reza Zabib paid a two-day visit to Havana to discuss bilateral ties with Cuban officials.

According to a statement issued by Cuba’s foreign ministry on Tuesday, Zabib met with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Marcos Rodriguez Costa and conferred on the latest developments in the two countries’ relations.

The statement quoted Rodriguez as saying that in the meeting the two sides “emphasized more bilateral efforts to reinvigorate future friendship and cooperation between the two countries”.

Last month, Iranian Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou in a meeting with Cuba’s First Vice-President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura in Havana underlined Iran’s readiness to expand mutual cooperation with Cuba in various grounds of economy, science and culture.

Saeedlou further added that Tehran is ready to transfer its experiences to the friendly countries, including Latin American states, specially Cuba.
