Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Praises Algeria’s Stance on Regional Issues

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Algeria has adopted wise stances on the regional developments, Palestine in particular.

Speaking at a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Murat Medelsi on Thursday, Amir Abdollahian stated that Tehran and Algiers consider political approach and dialogue the only way to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Tehran and Algiers support the plan to stop violence in Syria and go ahead with national dialogue to develop national solidarity, he added.

The Iranian official further stressed Algeria’s significant status in the region and the Muslim World.

He lauded Algerian correct understanding of the enemies’ goals and praised President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s stance toward Palestine developments.

Medelsi, for his part, underscored the importance of unity among the regional states against common threats.

Appreciating Tehran’s support to Palestine, he added that Tehran and Algiers have a joint stance regarding Syria which is based on political approach and national dialogue.
