Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi underlined the necessity for strengthening unity among different Palestinian groups, and said divisions among Palestinians have emboldened the Zionist regime.
“The continued differences and rifts among the Palestinian groups have further emboldened the Zionist regime to exercise its anti-human decisions,” Salehi said in a message to an international conference dubbed ‘Palestine; Pivot of Muslim World Unity’ in Tehran on Monday.

“We hope that in addition to reviving national unity based on the Palestinian nation’s irrevocable rights, Palestinians aim the arrowheads of their struggle at the main enemy with vigilance and understanding the sensitive conditions on the scene,” he added.

In relevant remarks in February, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in a meeting in Cairo with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas, called on all Palestinian groups to maintain unity in a bid to defend their rights and solve their country’s problems.

During the meeting on the sidelines of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit meeting in the Egyptian capital, the two presidents discussed different issues, including unity among Palestinian groups against the Zionist regime of Israel and its aggressions.

President Ahmadinejad urged all Palestinian resistance groups to remain united against Israel in order to defend their rights and people.
