Iranian Lawmaker Raps France for “Rocking the Boat” in Geneva Talks

“The behavior of France’s representative in the nuclear negotiations shows that France seeks to blackmail the negotiations, and this illogical behavior should be confronted by the other members of the Group 5+1,” Rapporteur of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini told FNA on Saturday.

“While the French people want an improvement in the relations between Paris and Tehran, unfortunately the French government has preferred the Zionist regime’s views to its people’s demand,” he added.

“We hope that the French foreign minister casts a logical look at the negotiations,” Naqavi Hosseini said.

While a deal between Iran and the world powers seems on the cusp, Fabius said Israel’s “concerns” must be taken into consideration.

“It is necessary to take fully into account Israel’s security concerns and those of the region,” Fabius told France Inter radio in Geneva early on Saturday at the beginning of the third day of the talks.

The news came amid Israel’s deep anger over the likelihood of an agreement between Iran and the six world powers in the course of the ongoing nuclear talks.

On Friday, Netanyahu “utterly” denounced a possible agreement in the course of the nuclear talks as “very, very bad”.

This is while analysts believe that Israel, the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle-East with 200-400 warheads, fears a rapprochement between Iran and the US, its main alley.
