Iranian military official passes away

Acting Chief of Staff of the Commander-in-Chief’s office Ali Alam al-Hoda, who has made significant contributions during the eight-year Iraqi-imposed war on Iran, has passed away.

“He spent the years during the imposed war supporting forces in the Khuzestan region. After the war he accepted [this] responsibility in the Commander-in-Chief’s office and continued his constructive contributions,” Brigadier General Seyyed Massoud Jazayeri said in a statement on Monday.

Alam al-Hoda will be buried in the southern Iranian city of Ahvaz near the graves of the martyrs of the resistance of Hoveyzeh City.

His brother Seyyed Hossein Alam al-Hoda was martyred during the eight year Iraqi imposed war.

In September 1980, Saddam Hussein launched a surprise attack on Iran shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
