Iranian Minister: Iran, Iraq Sign 350 MoUs in 10 Years

A1132417Iranian Justice Minister Seyed Morteza Bakhtiari hailed the growing trend of interactions and cooperation between Iran and Iraq, saying that the two countries have signed a total 350 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) during the last ten years.

The Iranian justice minister made the remarks in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Hassan al-Shammari here in Tehran on Wednesday.

This volume (350) of MoUs between Iran and Iraq in 10 years shows the positive trend of interactions between the two countries, the Iranian justice minister said.

The Iraqi justice minister, for his part, described the interactions between Tehran and Baghdad as positive, and expressed the hope that the pending MoUs would come into action soon.

Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
