Iranian MP: Tel Aviv Miscalculates Palestinian Resistance Groups’ Capability

A senior Iranian legislator lauded the victory of the Palestinian groups in their recent resistance against Israel, and stated that Tel Aviv had miscalculation about capability of the resistance groups.

Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire on Wednesday after eight days of lethal fighting over the Gaza Strip.

According to the truce agreement Israel agreed to end its policy of assassinating top Hamas officials, while Hamas promised to halt all rocket fire by the many groups operating in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking on Thursday about the developments, member of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Esmail Kosari lashed out at the Israeli regime for its failure to accept the realities in the region, and noted that Tel Aviv had miscalculation about the military prowess of the Palestinian resistance movement in the recent Gaza war.

He said the victory of Gaza people over Israel during the eight-day war heralds the onset of a new era for the liberation of Palestine.

“This was a great victory after the 22-day war on Gaza (December 2008) and after this the Palestinian people can take the next strides to overthrow the Zionist regime and (facilitate) the return of Palestinian refugees to their motherland,”

On November 14, the Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip, which killed more than 165 Palestinians and injured some 1,269 others.

In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into the Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.
