Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, in two separate messages to Nasrallah and Berri, extended his congratulations to the Lebanese resistance and government over their courageous defense against the Israeli forces who faced an embarrassing defeat in 2006.

He further underlined that the brilliant victory of the resistance movement indicated efficiency of people’s faith and patience against deadly modern weapons.

The top Iranian legislator hoped for peace, tranquility and prosperity for the entire Lebanese people from all walks of life.

Meantime, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi felicitated Nasrallah on the occasion of the 8th victory anniversary of the resistance movement against the Zionist occupiers, and called for the Lebanese people’s vigilance against the new wave of plots created by Tel Aviv to create rift among the country’s nation.

He also wished the best for Nasrallah, the resistance movement and the Lebanese people.

Hezbollah’s power and military capabilities are acknowledged by friends and foes. French journalist and author Thierry Meyssan said in 2013 that Hezbollah’s military capacities and capabilities against Israel have grown 400 times since the Tel Aviv’s 33-day war on Lebanon back in 2006.

During the war of 2006, over 200,000 Israelis were obliged to hide in shelters to escape from Hezbollah retaliation. This time, they were 2,000,000 seeking shelter from Palestinian missiles, he said during the current Israeli war with Gaza.
