Iranian Police Seize Huge Drug Cargo in Southeastern Province

A0796305The Iranian law enforcement police squads have seized a large volume of narcotics in the country’s Southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan in the last few days, a provincial police chief announced.

Police have seized over 200kg of different types of narcotics in the city of Saravan during Nowrouz holidays (started on March 20), Sistan and Balouchestan’s Police Chief Colonel Reza Nazari said on Saturday.

After receiving information about a suspicious passenger car parked in a street of Saravan, the city’s anti-drug police forces were dispatched to examine the case, Nazari said, adding that 212 kilograms of narcotics were skillfully placed inside the car.

According to the statistical figures released by the UN, Iran ranks first among the world countries in preventing entry of drugs and decreasing demand for narcotics.
