Iranian Security Forces Disband Several Terrorist Teams after Unrests

The Iranian security forces disbanded several terrorist teams that had played major roles in the recent riots in the country.

The intelligence ministry announced in a statement on Wednesday that its forces identified and disbanded a terrorist team in the Western town of Sardasht, who had infiltrated into the country to conduct terrorist acts.

According to the statement, the security forces discovered and seized 3 Kalashnikov weapons and a large volume of military equipment from the terrorist team.

Also, the security forces identified the hideout of three terrorists “affiliated to one of the anti-revolutionary groups sheltered in Europe”, as they were building explosives, including Molotov cocktails.

Meantime, 3 other terrorists were arrested in the Southern province of Fars with a large volume of equipment to make Molotov cocktails.

The ministry statement said that the group had also prepared extremist texts and handouts which invited different ethnic groups in Iran to armed measures against the Islamic Republic.

A security official said on Thursday that an anti-revolutionary terrorist team which had entered Iran with to launch armed attacks in false flag operations to heighten anti-government sentiments was disbanded in the Northwestern city of Piranshahr in West Azarbaijan province.

“An armed anti-revolutionary team which had recently penetrated Iran with the mission to conduct blasts and kill people in false flag operations to heighten anti-establishment sentiments for continued unrests was identified by the intelligence forces in Piranshahr,” the official who asked to remain unnamed due to the sensitivity of his job told FNA.

“They fired at the security forces and used a rural woman as human shield while being arrested,” the official told FNA.

He added that the terrorists’ use of the woman as human shield prevented the Iranian security forces from directly firing at them, resulting in the martyrdom of three security forces.

The official said that during the clashes one of the terrorists was arrested and a number of others were wounded, adding, “Three terrorist teams have been identified and detained in Western Iran in recent days.”

Last week, a number of peaceful protests began in several areas across the country, with the participants calling on authorities to address their economic issues.

Those gatherings were, however, overshadowed when armed elements and vandals showed up among ordinary protesters and began to launch attacks on public property, police stations and religious sites.

The original protesters soon left the streets upon calls by the authorities so security forces could deal with the rioters and sporadic violence, which continued in some towns and cities for several days.

In response, hundreds of thousands of Iranian people in different cities and towns poured to the streets to condemn the recent riots and chaos in the country and show support for the Islamic Revolution.
