Iranians outline expectations of Rohani

Following Hojjatoleslam Hassan Rohani’s victory in Iran’s 11th presidential election by winning 50.70 percent of the total vote, Iranians tell Press TV of their expectations from the future administration.

On Saturday, Rohani’s jubilant fans packed the streets of Tehran and a number of other cities, cheering and setting off fireworks after Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar announced his victory in the election.
Press TV has conducted interviews with Iranian people, celebrating in the streets of several cities across Iran, about their expectations from the president-elect.
Iranian political analyst Foad Izadi told Press TV “We want to see the new government work harder to make sure that these difficulties that other countries have created, they will stop… that is why they showed up and said a big no to countries that were asking people not to participate in the election,”.
A young Iranian woman said, “I just want Mr. Rohani to fulfill his campaign promises. I voted for him because of this. If there is no change, it would mean that we have thrown away out votes.”
An old man, who was holding a picture of Rohani, said he expected the president-elect to think of the country’s youths, resolve their economic problems and have good relations with all countries.
