Iranians to march against Flotilla raid

The Islamic Ideology Dissemination Council of Iran has called for a national march this week to denounce Israel’s deadly attack on the Gaza-bound aid Flotilla.

“In an act of terrorism by attacking the aid convoy carrying humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza and the killing and wounding of human rights activists and aid workers, the Zionist regime has infuriated Muslim nations,” the council said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement also called for a nationwide march following this week’s Friday Prayers.

“The cold and deadly silence of Western media and biased and limited coverage of the tragic incident and the ensuing global protests by media outlets affiliated with the Zionist regime is a sign of the fear and terror that drives Tel Aviv,” it added.

The council also urged members of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League, as well as international and rights organizations to cut diplomatic relations with Israel until Tel Aviv lifts its blockade of the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, Israeli commandos attacked a convoy of humanitarian aid bound for the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, killing at least 20 activists and wounding dozens of others.

The Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of nine ships, that intended to pierce the three-year Israeli-imposed blockade on the impoverished coastal enclave.
