Daash terrorists storm Samarra for a 2nd time this week

Elements of the Daash terrorist organization stormed the city of Samarra this evening for the second time this week and violently clashed with Iraqi security forces near the sacred Shi’ite Shrine of the Askariyeen.

A security source said today that “the elements of Daash launched an attack on the city of Samarra, south of Tikrit. They were able to break into the fortified area where there are Shi’ite holy sites”, noting that “violent armed clashes broke out near the holy Shrine of the Askariyeen between the parties.”

On June 5, less than a week ago, Daash terrorists stormed the city of Samarra and tried to destroy sacred Sh’iite shrines. Although they destroyed numerous security fortifications, armed forces were able to repel their attack and drive them out of the city.
