Iran’s Defense Minister to visit Turkey on Thursday

Minister of Defense Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan is scheduled to visit Turkey on Thursday to attend the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale.

During the visit, the defense minister will also attend a major peace meeting which is to be held in presence of participants from more than 100 countries from all over the world.

He will also meet with a number of Turkish officials to discuss issues of mutual concern, as well as regional and international issues.

The Battle of Canakkale or the Battle of Gallipoli was a campaign of World War I that took place on the Gallipoli peninsula between the Ottoman Empire and the Allied Powers (April 25, 1915 and January 9, 1916).
