Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezayee in a letter to Yemen’s Ansarullah Leader Abdolmalek al-Houthi underlined that the movement’s victories will change the fate of the Middle East nations for the better.

“Ansarullah’s triumphs will change the world’s political discourse and also the path and fate of the nations in the Middle East,” Rezayee said in his letter to al-Houthi on Saturday.

“I congratulate you on the heroic resistance of the Yemeni nation and victories of the true sons of Islam against the aggressors who have attacked Yemen after receiving permission from the Great Satan (the US) and the usurper Israel,” he added.

He noted that Saudi statesmen’s justification for attacking Yemen is unacceptable and is no excuse for attacking a sovereign state.

The Muslim World is in really awakened now, Rezayee said, indicating that Muslims today may not be deceived by void excuses and hopcritic policies.

Earlier today, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi strongly blasted the Saudi-led attack on the Yemeni people, and warned against the negative consequences of the aggression for the Al Saud regime.

“The Saudi government will have to deal with the negative repercussions of this attack for the years to come,” Boroujerdi told reporters.

He said Saudi Arabia has been practicing the same aggressive policies against Yemen for many years now, and said, “The Saudi government has used all leverages over the past years to implement its policies in this country, but it has failed to achieve its goals.”

Boroujerdi reiterated that the Al Saud cannot defeat the brave people of Yemen.

The senior Iranian lawmaker, meantime, pointed to Turkey’s role in the region, and said, “It is for many years now that Turkey has been assisting terrorists and creating opportunities for training them in Syria, but its policies have eventually failed.”

Saudi Arabia started airstrikes against Yemen and killed, at least, 25 civilians early Thursday, one day after the US-backed Yemeni president fled the country.

Also, 15 more people were killed and injured in a second round of massive attacks by the Saudi Arabian fighter jets in the Northwestern Yemeni city of Sa’ada on Friday.

Yemen’s al-Massira TV reported that the Saudi air force targeted civilians who were shopping in a market.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — backed by the US have declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued earlier Thursday.

US President Barack Obama authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to the military operations, National Security Council Spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said late Wednesday night.

She added that while US forces were not taking direct military action in Yemen, Washington was establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate US military and intelligence support.

Riyadh claimed that it has bombed the positions of the Ansarullah fighters and launched attacks against the Sana’a airport and the Dulaimi airbase.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is attacking Ansarullah positions, Saudi warplanes have flattened a number of homes near Sana’a international airport.
