Iran’s enemies reach dead-end

A top Iranian lawmaker says the recent bomb attacks in Tehran show that the enemies of the Islamic Republic have reached a dead-end in their pressures over Iran.

Last week, Dr. Majid Shahriari was assassinated and Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi sustained injuries in two separate bomb attacks in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

“These assassinations are signs that our enemies have reached a dead-end in [their] all-out pressures over Iran,” Head of the Majlis [Parliament] National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told IRNA on Saturday.

Unknown terrorists detonated bombs in the vehicles of Shahriari and Abbasi in separate locations on Monday morning between 7-8 a.m. local time [03:30-04:30 GMT].

The attacks were condemned by Iranian officials and the Parliament (Majlis) and enraged academics across the country.

“Dr. Shahriair’s martyrdom will bring about a new passion in Iranian universities and scientific centers and we will see more firmness on the part of scientists to reach heights of nuclear science,” Boroujerdi added.

He further explained that after the bombings, a meeting was held with representatives from Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, Interior Ministry, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and police.

People should know that Iran’s security and intelligence forces neutralize many of these conspiracies, the Iranian lawmaker concluded.

Iran has apprehended members of a terrorist group who carried out the Tehran attacks with the support of Mossad, the CIA and the MI6.
