Iran’s Guardian Council Urges Int’l Bodies to Condemn Blasphemous Movie
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Guardian Council urged the world community to show a tough reaction to a film recently produced by an American-Israeli man against Islam, describing the movie as an inhumane deed.

The Guardian Council condemns this offensive action on Saturday, and called on responsible organizations and advocates of human rights in the international arena, the UN, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take firm and swift measures against these inhumane moves.

The Guardian Council also issued a statement saying the production of the film could not be an independent move.

“Just as we saw during the burning of the Holy Quran, the US government not only did not take action against the extremist ministers who insulted the Holy Quran but indirectly supported them,” the statement read.

Outrage is growing across the Muslim world over the five-million-US dollar movie that was financed by more than 100 Jews.

The film called “Innocence of Muslims”, previously called Desert Warriors and Innocence of Bin Laden, is a 2012 anti-Muslim film about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The film was made in the United States by a man initially reported by US media to be an American-Israeli who relied on funding from 100 Jews.

The film was being promoted by a Florida pastor, Terry Jones, known for previous Quran-burning stunts that angered Muslims in various countries.

Since the release of the sacrilege film, protesters have attacked US embassies in Libya, Egypt and Yemen over the movie. The US ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in an attack on the US consulate in Benghazi on Tuesday.

The anti-Islam film has drawn condemnation from numerous countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc.

In Iran, millions of Iranians in Tehran and other cities across the country held nationwide rallies in protest against the recent desecration of Islam.
