Iran’s iFilm Arabic has been uplinked on EutelSat 7 West A (Nilesat) after it was removed under pressure from European satellite provider Eutelsat.

At the moment, iFilm viewers can watch their favorite channel on the following frequency:

Transponder: A10
Frequency: 10872
Polarization: Vertical
Symbol Rate: 27500
FEC: ¾

The new frequency covers East Asia, Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe.

On February 20, the Arab satellite provider Gulfsat banned Iranian channels iFilm and Al-Kawthar under direct pressure from Eutelsat.

Eutelsat, owned by Franco-Israeli Michel de Rosen, is also mounting pressure on another satellite provider to take Iran’s Arabic-language Al-Alam news channel off the air in a blatant attack on freedom of speech.

Eutelsat has threatened the Slovenia-based satellite communications company — Satellite Telecommunications Network (STN) — to remove Al-Alam from its platform within the next 48 hours or face punitive measures.

On February 22, a human rights activist said the move by the European satellite provider Eutelsat to pull the plug on several Iranian channels is entirely illegal.

“I think what is behind it is some authoritarian personality in the United States of America and/or Paris, and/or London, who are thoroughly debased in their thinking, who have not the slightest trace of liberal values at all,” William Spring said in an interview with Press TV.
