Iran’s IRGC Aerospace Chief Declares Unprecedented Preparedness Against Adversaries

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has praised Iran's advanced capabilities in missile and drone technology, dismissing any military threats from adversaries against the nation.

Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division, delivered his comments during a session with the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, as reported by the committee’s spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei. This interaction was covered by Tasnim news agency on Monday.

Highlighting the Islamic Republic’s defense prowess, particularly in the missile and drone industries, Rezaei quoted Hajizadeh asserting that “Iran is currently more powerful and better equipped than before, rendering any military threat against the nation unfounded.”

The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) characterized the previous year’s operation, True Promise II, targeting occupied territories as “the largest missile operation in the world.” The official highlighted that over 75% of the missiles successfully struck their intended targets. This achievement, the Iranian Member of Parliament asserted, delivered a definitive message to adversaries, particularly the Israeli regime.

Rezaei referenced statements made by Hajizadeh, asserting that the recent claims about a decline in Iran’s defense capabilities were manufactured by Hebrew and Western media outlets.

Iranian military officials have dismissed attempts by adversaries to mislead public perception, suggesting efforts are underway to depict the Islamic Republic as weakened. Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, as reported by Rezaei, has stated that not only has Iran’s military might remained robust, but it has also significantly strengthened compared to previous years.

Iranian officials have declared that adversaries of the nation find themselves increasingly susceptible to Iran’s enhanced offensive capabilities, asserting that these antagonists are incapable of compromising the country’s defense infrastructure.

In response to Israel’s recent lethal assault on Iranian diplomatic facilities in Syria on April 1, 2024, which resulted in the deaths of seven military personnel, including two generals, the IRGC has initiated a large-scale missile and drone offensive targeting the occupied territories, naming the campaign Operation True Promise I.

On October 1, 2024, Iran initiated another missile attack targeting military, intelligence, and reconnaissance installations linked to Israel. Dubbed Operation True Promise II, this action was in retaliation to the regime’s targeted killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Iranian officials have emphasized that the nation utilized only a small portion of its military capabilities during the twin retaliatory actions.

Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a top military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, reiterated in March that Iran is resolute in its intention to initiate Operation True Promise III against the Israeli government. This operation serves as a countermeasure to what Tehran perceives as acts of aggression by Tel Aviv.

The official stated that the operation will be executed at a suitable time, guided by the discernment and wisdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.
