Iran’s Jewish MP raps Quran desecration

Jewish member of Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Siamak Moreh Sedq describes the desecration of the holy Quran in the US as an “insane act without rational justification.”

The Jewish lawmaker said that such sacrilegious insults against religions would only serve the interests of “Zionism,” saying, “God believers should prove that [such actions] will only consolidate their will to counter Zionism and arrogant powers.”

“What has been proven to everyone is that such a heinous act has been orchestrated by the most brainless followers of imperialism and Zionism,” Moreh Sedq told Mehr news agency on Monday.

Five other minority members in the Iranian parliament also denounced the catastrophe in a statement.

Prior to this year’s anniversary of the September 11 attacks, an extremist Florida pastor, Terry Jones, officially declared that he would set the Quran on fire, but he was forced to call off his decision after he faced international condemnation.

Yet, some anti-Islam protestors burned pages of the Muslim’s holy book on September 11, facing no police intervention or reaction whatsoever.

Meanwhile, another group tore some pages of the holy Quran in front of the White House.

The insulting move triggered angry protests across the world, particularly in Muslim states.
