Iran’s Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani lashed out at the western countries, specially the US, for staging a new wave of Iranophobia after the nuclear agreement between Tehran and the six world powers (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany) in Vienna on July 14.

“Spreading rumors against Iran after the Vienna agreement between Iran and the world powers, including the (fake) news about Parchin military site, was an incorrect move and ran counter to the nuclear agreement that the US was also one its signatories,” Amoli Larijani said, addressing high-ranking judiciary officials in a weekly meeting in Tehran on Monday.

Amoli Larijani pointed to the West’s media hype about Iran’s nuclear activities, and reminded that “the fatwa (religious decree) of Iran’s Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) has banned production and use of nuclear weapons.”

He said the Americans continue their media hype even after the nuclear agreement and although they know that the Iranian Supreme Leader’s fatwa had already banned acquisition and use of the nuclear weapons, they still claim that they have managed to curtail Iran’s plans for making an A-bomb through the Vienna agreement, and they have been raising this claim in a bid to promote Iranophobia.

Amoli Larijani called on the US officials to make up for their past mistakes and avoid misinterpreting Iran’s powerful presence in the nuclear talks.

The Parchin military region is a vast area which includes different military, industrial, administrative and residential blocks and districts.

On Saturday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani rejected allegations about cleansing operations at Parchin military center as useless media hues and cries.

“They (the westerners) have launched this hue and cry over Parchin to influence the international scene,” Larijani told reporters in Tehran.

He said there are works and a normal trafficking of vehicles and people in the region, but the western media are seeking hard to link such moves to Parchin military base to start another round of hype. This is just media ballyhoo, he said, and a line of story is seen in these reports.

Larijani referred to the nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers, and said even if the agreement is approved, the western states, specially the US, will continue their past dishonest behavior towards Tehran.

Also on Thursday, Iran’s permanent mission at the UN in New York in a statement dismissed as “baseless” the recent claims raised by certain US media about Tehran’s cleansing operations at Parchin military site, saying that the construction operations underway there are nothing special.

“The Parchin military zone is a vast area which includes different military, industrial, administrative and residential districts and therefore, construction operations in there are natural and common,” the statement said.

It added that in recent days, one of the roads in front of Mamlou dam near Parchin was slightly destroyed which is now being repaired using heavy road construction machinery.

Stressing that Iran has never sought military use of the nuclear energy, the statement said the claims raised by certain US media are nothing new and are baseless.

Parchin military center, which contains no nuclear or nuclear-related facilities or installations, has already been visited twice by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspection teams, headed by former deputy director general of the world body when Mohamed ElBaradei was the IAEA Director General.

After the second visit, the IAEA’s former deputy director-general said the Parchin issue joined the history.
